Our first meeting with Mrs. Roundy was all about getting to know one another. We created bobble heads (which you will see at parent teacher conferences) and wrote about our 5 senses.
On our second meeting we learned about Jackson Pollock and his action painting style. We like to call him "Action Jackson" because of his painting technique. He would often throw paint at enormous canvases that laid on the floor, not caring about footprints, food or other things that would get mixed in it. Then, we got into action and created our own! We used marbles and dipped them in paint, then allowed the marbles to flow freely over our canvases while moving them around.
Here are some action shots:
During our next meeting we put all of our creations together to create one large work of art.
Here is the final product:
I love that this project holds individual and whole group value. It shows how unique each student is and how fabulous we look when we all come together. It turned out to be beautiful! What do you think?
